EXPLORE OUR MATERIAL LIBRARY

Each and every design employs earthly and honest materials. We values its relationship with skilled craftspeople, who have mastered the profession through generations.

The entire collection is characterized by its exclusive charm. Seeing as each series is either hand-crafted or mouth-blown, every object is subtly unique. Noticeable variances in weight and/or color intensity merely characterize the personal craftsmanship, which we truly admires.

GLASS

Our glass series is hand-blown outside Stockholm and comprises glass vases in contrasting styles and diverse colors. Committed to employing merely the finest materials, our unrivaled, high-quality glassware embodies clarity, brilliance, and durability. Passed down through generations, the traditional glass-blowing artistry endows every article a distinct character and charm; minor variances denote the genuine creation.

By following these steps, you can keep your glass vases clean and sparkling, allowing their beauty to shine through.

  • Prepare warm water and mild soap solution.
  • Soak the vase to loosen dirt and residue.
  • Gently scrub the inside with a long-handled brush.
  • Use a soft cloth to clean the outside.
  • Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
  • Dry carefully to prevent water spots.

SOLID WOOD

Which type of wood you choose for your furniture has a big impact on how it will look. The natural color and texture of the wood can easily change the look of the entire piece of furniture.

Oak is incredibly durable, largely due to its resistance to moisture. A chair or table in solid oak rarely has problems living on for generations, provided you look after and maintain your furniture in the right way.

Walnut is a very strong and durable type of wood, which with its shifts between light and dark brown tones radiates an exclusive feeling. Walnut furniture is always higher in price than the light woods, especially if it is solid wood furniture that all our products are made of.

What makes birch wood appealing is that it can vary considerably between a completely smooth, almost invisible structure in the glass birch. The colors can also shift between slightly yellow and white tones to a more distinct red color.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF SOLID WOOD

Generally
Furniture from Sara Ullvetter Design is designed and manufactured to last for generations. In order for you to get the most enjoyment out of your furniture, for as long as possible, it is important that you take care of it properly. Solid wood furniture that is properly cared for and exposed to daylight will develop a beautiful patina over time.

Wood is a living natural material and should therefore always be cleaned as gently as possible. Regular cleaning with a damp cloth ensures that the furniture always looks good and is beautifully patinated. Never use strong cleaning agents when cleaning furniture.
We recommend oiling your table top once a year or when the surface feels dull and dry. Signs that the wooden furniture needs maintenance are if water does not bead on the surface but is absorbed directly, it is time for oil.

Wood and moisture
Humidity has a major impact on solid wood furniture. Wood breathes and naturally adapts to the environment it is in. Solid wood furniture should not be placed in a room where the humidity varies greatly, as such large variations can cause cracks in the wood and lead to the joints loosening.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF SOLID WOOD

Wood and daylight
The colour of the wood matures when the furniture is exposed to daylight. The greatest colour change usually occurs when the furniture is new. Vases, tablecloths etc can cause dark areas on the wooden surface if they are placed in the same place for a longer period. Avoid marks from ornaments and drying out the furniture by not placing in direct sunlight.

Wood and water
Solid wood furniture cannot withstand large amounts of water or other liquids. If liquid is spilled on the furniture, it should be wiped up immediately to avoid damage and discoloration of the wood. Large amounts of water can cause cracks in the wood and cause the furniture to warp. Minor stains or water spills should also be removed immediately as they can leave marks on the surface that are difficult to remove later. Use coasters: Protects against heat spots and liquid.

Wood and appearance
Wood is a natural material and therefore no two pieces look the same. Small knots, pronounced grain and colour variations are part of the natural appearance of the wood.
