THE MAKING OF – DUNE CHAIR IN WALNUT

To create a simple and minimal design may seem easy, but in reality there is nothing more complicated – every little detail catches the eye and needs to be well thought out. We believe that a lasting and sustainable design is made of exactly this; honest materials, great craftmanship and a clear vision with a strong design language. Dune Chair is inspired by architecture where well-thought-out and subtle details make a mark. Dune chair is available in solid oak and walnut, framed by elegant and architectural lines joined by the braided seat of paper cord inspired by sand dunes. The chair is made in a double plain braid pattern for a minimalistic appearance. This technique takes twice as long for a skilled craftsman compared to classic braiding. Dune Chair is manufactured on the island of Gotland by Visborg’s carpentry. With their craftsmanship and precision, they carefully produce the Dune chair in a small-scale production.
